First, the native integration check
Xero offers a free Shopify integration that brings in orders, customers, payments, fees and refunds, usually synced daily. If that covers you, we'll set it up and say so.
What can sync
- Daily sales summary (sales, discounts, shipping, tax, fees): from Shopify to Xero, once a day, through Xero's own integration. It's a summary, so there's no per-customer detail.
- Each order as an invoice or payment: from Shopify to Xero, usually synced daily with the free integration, or more often with a custom build triggered when an order is placed. For very busy shops, we plan around Xero's limits.
- Customers as Xero contacts: from Shopify to Xero, with each order in a custom build, with checks to avoid duplicates.
- Refunds as credit notes: from Shopify to Xero, daily (free integration) or as they happen (custom).
- Payouts and Shopify Payments fees: from Shopify to Xero, recorded as a transfer to your bank. PayPal and other payment methods may need extra reconciliation steps.
- Stock levels: not included. Syncing stock from Xero to Shopify is custom work, quoted separately.
